Do You Take Any Vitamins or Herbs on a Regular Basis?

I don't take them daily, but I take a lot of vitamins and supplements. In my early 60s, and not on any prescription meds yet, and hope to avoid that completely. I don't take vaccines anymore, found I was more sickly when I was younger and letting them inject me with all those questionable ingredients of questionable value, IMO.

I won't list everything, but I take a Multi Vitamin/Mineral, Vitamin D3, Vitamin B-50, Vitamin C (ascorbic acid), MSM, Glucosamine Sulfate, Lutein, Vitamin K2, Milk Thistle, Chromium Picolinate, Magnesium, etc.

Do you take any supplements, if so, which ones?

    Hi Bigfoot,
I'm 71 and take no vitamins nor supplements. I just eat a heathy balanced diet. I would recommend that if you had chicken pox when you were a kid that you get the shingles vaccine. You have a 25% chance of getting shingles and I can tell you that shingles is extremely painful. It's also worth getting vaccinated for pneumonia as well. It was one of the most painful experience of my life. Had that twice and it will kick your butt and could kill you. Stay healthy.

Thanks SoFine, glad you're doing okay healthwise....kudos! My husband did talk me into getting the shingles vaccine, but I don't want any other vaccines, I don't take the flu shots anymore, etc. Guess I'll take my chances with pneumonia for now, of course in the future I may have a change of heart about getting a vaccination. Question, is the shingles vaccine good forever for us, or do they expect you to get it every certain amount of years?

I'm not a health nut, but I have to say I'm eating healthier that I have my whole life, more conscious of the foods I eat and stay away from fast foods and junk foods. But, I think that certain supplements have benefits, and I know I don't get the amounts I want in my daily diet, that's for sure.

    Be well. :)

I take B-12 too some days, but always take a B-50 along with it, I heard it works best with other B vitamins in your system. I use the Source Narutals sublingual, MethylCobalamin , 1mg.

I stopped using iron supplements after menopause. I understand that once women stop having their cycle, they have no way to get ride of the excess iron in their blood except for donating blood, same with men. I don't understand everything about it, but supposedly senior people with excess iron in their systems may be damaging to their organs. The two brands of multi vitamins I use are both iron-free.

CDC says the shingles vaccine needed every 5 years. But I would ask my doctor.

Thanks SoFine, I reluctantly got my first one and guess I'll have to research and make a decision for if/when I get a second one. Honestly, I don't trust the CDC recommendations, and I think doctors are told from their higher-ups what to 'recommend'. Even my vet is finally opening a conversation that they've been over-vaccinating dogs and they're starting to at least space out vaccines so there's not so many negative side effects for the animals.
