    Win 10 Mobile Phones

I went into some phone stores here to ask about win 10 mobile phones. One had them a MS phone with win 10. One did not sell them at all and the third told me that MS was withdrawing from the mobile phone market and I could not get them. Is this true? My phone is an S5 android and I do not like the incompatibility of android/Windows and wanted to merge all my comms into win 10.

Windows phones are getting hard to get. AT&T is sending me a free phone to replace a phone that is 2G. I talked to them on the 5th and they said the were in the process of sending me a LG K10. I told them I wanted a Lumia 950 instead. She told me I could return it to a AT&T store and get the 950. At the time there was one store about a hour or so away that still had the 950. This was on the 5th and I just found out that they waited until the 23rd to send it. Not only did they wait until the 23rd but the 950 is no longer available at the store and they're sending me the LG B470. I hope I can still exchange it for something else. I even told her the B470 is to small and just in case I can't exchange it I wanted the K10.

I got lucky yesterday and found a AT&T store that still had a few Lumia 950's. I am now the proud owner of a Lumia 950. :) I'm going to swap the sim card from my wife's old phone to the 640XL and give it to her.

    Hi Winuser,
Looking at buying the same 950. It sounds like it's a favourite of yours.
Would you care to share your thoughts here before I pull the trigger? I'd settle for the 950's very best feature and the one thing you would change otherwise...

    TIA

I too found the lumia, but if MS is no longer supporting it, I decided again? Or, will they be supporting it but not producing more ???

As I understand it, Win10 mobile as a platform isn't going anywhere. So these last production Lumia phones are like any other mobile device; supported for the duration of their useable lifespan just like any other mobile really. On the hardware front the Lumia is no more with customer care (warranty/repair) handed of to b2x.

I haven't really had a lot of time to do any serious testing. The few apps I've used seem to load and run faster. Here's a comparison between my old Lumia 640XL and my new Lumia 950 if that will help. Compare Phones Devices The price was right too. I was able to buy it out right for only $298.99 plus tax and avoid getting locked into a contract. After the holidays I'm going to order the Microsoft display dock.

    Thanks Winuser,
Well I've just returned from the Sydney Microsoft Store. I rang them early yesterday and was told they still have stock of the 950 but today when I went in there were none. To their credit they offered me a reduction on the 950XL and I was anticipating a small reduction in price and a whole lot of goodies thrown in. After throwing in 2 Groove music Passes and a spare back cover for the XL the total price came out to be A$399 or the originally quoted price for the 950. I'm thinking that's a pretty decent deal outside of the US full stop. On top of that the courtesy and quality of service extended to me was second to none. Couldn't be happier.
