    The Raspberry Pi Thread [3]

A black version of the Pi Zero case would be nice. Or white even.

Can somebody do me a favor? Go to Pimoroni and see if the search function works for you? All I get is a blank with nothing found?

OK, thanks Jack, I was pretty sure it wasn't just me with the issue. It's something on their end then.

Just saw this on Adafruit, https://www.adafruit.com/products/3298 If they ditch one of those USB ports and added WIFI I might just buy one. I just wonder how reliable those POGO pins are going to be?

There was a very similar one posted on the Raspberry Pi forum. He was getting ready for a production run and he had to redo it all over again when the version 1.2 came out lol. I just don't trust those pogo pins. I'd rather have one of those U shaped bridge connector from the micro USB port.
I have a couple of USB docking stations meant for laptops kicking around. I've been meaning to hook up to one of my Zero's and see what actually works out of the box. One has an Ethernet jack and 5 USB ports. I think they may only be USB 1 ports though, it fairly old. Might do in a pinch though, should be fine for a USB keyboard mouse etc. The other one has serial and parallel ports on it, plus the Ethernet, USB and PS2 ports for keyboard mouse. I just have to get off of my lazy @ss and do it lol. Once this new order arrives I should get some incentive to get back into some of my projects.

The first one will be to get KODI up and running on my brand new Pi 3B. That shouldn't take too long. Putting the vent holes in the Pi 3 case will be the tricky time consuming bit.

Then I want to get the new Real Time Clock I just bought up and running on the A++. I'll use a cobbler and solderless bread board to test it out. Then when its working I'll permanently solder it to my Proto Hat.
Then hook the sense hat up and fix my python code to run with the new joystick code. That could take a while? I'll have to try and remember to make a backup image of my SD card as I go along. Just in case I mess up.

Then start playing around with my Pi Zero and Explorer PHat

    Etc, lol.

cleaning up after a large flea Market at the church were I work I found the perfect PiZero case ,and if I soldered my new RedBear wifi pHAT directly to the Pizer it would all fit inside the flashlight ,,,I use a pair of side cutters to remove a lot/Few pieces inside the flash lite to make it fit...

Now that's cool. Time to get the dremel out and "carefully" make some access holes for the USB ports etc. One of those small thin sticker type WIFI antennas (like what's in some laptops) might just fit in where the bulb and reflector were?
