I tried removing/prying with a knife blade the plastic from in front of the bulb ,but no go with out breaking it , so I will try drilling a hole in it maybe ,, I also need to get out my soldering iron and do the pins on the pizero first then decide if I want to solder the wifi directly to the zero's pins ,I'm almost sure that what I will do ,, ,
That was likely press fit (snapped in) originally and never meant to be removed replaced. Drilling a hole in it is likely the way to go. Then stick something in the hole and pull it out.

    flashlight Pi-ZERO

well its all soldered and working, bluetooth and wifi worked out of the box, I ran it with the sdcard from my pi3,,,now to hot glue it into the flashlight tray and hope the antni cable will find someplace to go ,,,

side not the holes in the bottom of the flashlight look worse than they are ! really ,,,well kind of ,,it was really hard to gauge where they need to go,, and I kept missing lol,,,

My PC video cards have the Mini HDMI on them. I have two long Mini HDMI to HDMI cables as a result. They also work great on the Pi Zero. I have two of those shorty ones too. Well I will when this next order arrives. I had to order a kit with the adapters included to get the Zero, all the singles were sold out. Happened once before too, so now I have 2 sets. No big deal as I will likely need them at some point. I have 3 Zeros now, 2 version 1.3's and 1 of the original version 1's. The Mini USB OTG adapter is the one you generally can't do without.

@jack Looks good. Does the WIFI work right out of the box with Raspbian, or do you have to do some apt-get to get it up and running? Just wondering as it uses the GPIO pins. I'm likely going to buy one myself at some point.

It doesn't get any better than that. Did it come with the header already soldered on? I'm thinking, that's the one you had to unsolder?

no, I chose to get it without the header soldered on, it gave the choice ,,I soldered a tall header on the pizero long because I didn't had a low one ,but before I ever intended to buy the wifi card I de-soldered it ,, its a long story --lol

OK, that straightens that out. The first Pi Zero I bought still doesn't have a header soldered on it. I'm waiting until I commit it to a dedicated project before I solder one on. I have one connected to my Explorer PHat via the normal header. The new one that's on the way I'll leave header less too until I decide what I'm going to use it for. No point in rushing things, and then having to unsolder it, as you've already found out.
