What is the scariest situation you have been in?
Got to be going to a park and seeing my enemy there , I frooze with fear.

while visiting a friend in Chicago many years ago, me and the wife made a wrong turn into a bad area..we encountered some roving gangs. we hightailed it outta there
Hanging by my fingertips from sandstone cliff in the Rockies. @12,000 ft drop. A friend (may he rest in peace) risked his life to save mine. I will never forget my Terror for him as he inched down the incline on his stomach to save me.
Rolling over and over down the middle of the interstate outside of Manassas Virginia as the truck I was driving disintegrated around me and the other vehicles were swerving to avoid me.
Tent camping in an abandoned campground in the backwoods of Canada, a few feet away at night, a black bear started clawing through our truck shell to get to our dry dog food. We sent our macho male Malamute out to chase it away after it ignored our shouts, and the bear hissed at the dog and he came running back into the tent, busting through the zipper and letting in loads of mosquitoes.
Had a loaded rifle in the front seat of the truck, and just one round in a shotgun in the tent. My husband went out and shot over his head to scare him away.....not happening, he hesitated and continued. I was shakin' like a leaf, because we had a big pot of wild berry 'soup' in the tent with us, and I was sure he'd rip through the fabric to get it if he wanted to.
The bear broke through the screen of the shell and crawled into the back of the truck. Hubby darted to the cab and started driving on the dark dirt roads in hopes that it would jump out. He had the rifle then, but didn't want to kill it unless it threatened his life.
Anyhoo, he rocked the truck from side to side in the bed and eventually jump out, breaking the door. I was waiting in the dark tent with my dog, wondering what was going on. When my husband returned I finally could breathe again. We spent the rest of that night in the cab of the truck with the camera, waiting for the bear to return.
We laugh about it now, but at the time I was pretty shaken up.
I was married once ...., but seriously. Was in a plane landing on a small island in dense low lying cloud. Suddenly, for a few seconds, the cloud cleared and I saw the mountainside seemingly inches from the wingtip. Then the cloud closed in again. The airport didn't have any of the modern stuff, so the pilot was flying by guess work. Several minutes later we landed safely, but I never felt blase about flying again.
Then there was the time my appendix burst and for several days I thought I just had a stomach bug. I could actually feel myself fading away from this world before I realised I was in big trouble. I was grateful I had just the best surgeon.
Being shot at and missed then shot at and hit.
I still feel the effects of the hit, 2 scores later.
