and woke up thinking

"ANNIVERSARY UPDATE IS MORE LIKE "LAWNMOWER MAN" REMAKE
"Its been a lesson in life and an ethical nightmare re-working Local Security Policy"
After all who at the moment is more dangerous ,,, the autonomous hacker or Microsoft?

Microsoft were right on the money when they said "the 1607 Build will be the most secure system to date"
Yeah... thousands of us are in shock and awe of how to access our files, and some, their computer!

It's amazing how many and how varied the problems are following the "Anniversary Update"!
I have not had the disc - partition recognition problems that are mentioned here, and everywhere - my problem is the install behaved more like a clean install, WITHOUT deleting my files....
Unusual to say the least because most of my shortcuts to games , history and my extensive and ancient to present software library are all on their own drives, preceded by 3 operating systems in a multi boot setup where I had taken great care to keep drive letters the same in all systems and different game and third party software access from the operating systems in one location... install on one system and export or import the registry keys, so each system read from the same place etc.
BUT now in Windows 10 that system has been largely confused - destroyed and that drive is going to require time and work!
And all because during the install the built in administrator went around blocking apps that were not in the new "secure" os path or not installed via the secure desktop or so the log file seems to indicate... just wonderful!
NOT!
And then when after quite some time, and just to top it off, Cortana suddenly says I have a really great new photo album now... I was horrified because i thought it had accessed my chronological archaeology and history images from my dedicated History drive, but it had just copied stuff from all six drives and to demonstrate some new insignificant app..... my classic shell was blocked by my newly found Local enemy "Administrator", and my "customized" windows 7 card games that I had hacked the version seek out of so it would work in win10 with no ads were blocked because the Administrator installed the crappy add filled MCE Freecell from the Store App.... I mean the bloody gall and cheek of this "update" install is outrageous ... "we know best for you" attitude that Microsoft seems to be taking in updating their software and the general direction of their cyber vision, which is to frog march us to their next "good idea".
None of these things were outlined in any docs I read,,, and the ridiculous security settings where you edit from the picture folder, but cant save there... it suggests your "userprofile folder instead.... but straight after saving there, you are able to cut and paste the edited picture back to where youi wanted to save -- what is the security issue - point in that adminstrative condition?.. I dont get it!
You know I spent most of the first 12 months I had win 10 on my other systems , because i just couldn't be bothered tracking down settings that were well worn paths for a generation of machines and everybody had become savvy with the XP like interface that had persisted ... then they give us this nonlinear non sensible almost cryptic interface and call it the "best".
However despite my initial displeasure with the way the settings seemed to have been blown to the four winds, I recognised the fact that this was new architecture and the system was stable and quite good and so I had finally got around to making something of the interface that I could live with and had got it at a stage where it was doing what I wanted and I was beginning to get used to it ...(took ages to do because I was not enthused at first)
Then a while ago the "nag ware" about this major update began, and I deferred it, put it off and then last week read it was compulsory update which I took as meaning a cumulative service pack of sorts, and took the plunge. i made a couple of restore points and read about the roll back and reset optioms as well as the clean install of build 1607 and thought I had it covered.
What I didn't count on was the "silent" nature of the install by the upgrade assistant which gave one no clue of the disaster that was unfolding behind the plain GUI
When I finally got control back again and Cortana started up about the photo album I didn't realise all my tweaks were gone and by trusting Microsoft again, they had successfully balls it all up AGAIN!
I was not and am not happy.
The Roll back option is not for me because i have done that... this was a clean install of 1511 that I had gradually customized to my requirements, so I will just have to persist.
No interface settings are capable of undoing this mess, Ive had to work through adminsitrative settings - and it is tedious and tiresome, small print and very tricky with UAC and built in Administrator configuration being best described as diabolical... because the way it is designed you just cant master the built in administrator because being part of the same group you are disabled or enabled in the same way. It is a sort of "cut off your nose to spite your face" situation. But the thinking behind it is far reaching in consequence and will become a part of essential education with branches in ethics etc. Eventally if not already every machine and it's resident ever improving and learning "Cortana" will become important to people as this tecghnology wants you to transfer resposibility to it! Thinking independently without consulting your device will become socially unacceptable, even illegal The writing is not on the wall as us older folk once recited from Bible verse, but if you start reading what the administrative tools do and how they work it all points to less options and less control and not just for the computer!
That is, I believe or at least propose the direction of modern society the powers that be are coaxing us to! They don't want intelligent individuals with powerful autonomous machines in the complete control of their owners going online in THEIR cyber world. So they begin your conquest with subtle conditioning and trivial rewards all to steer you to their society wide standard user mode and you only get to be an or social elite or administrator while their "Cortana" or the built in Administrator is holding our hands and watching every keystroke or real life activity!
Why else would a machine have a device capable and programmed to learn all about YOU?
Call me "Far out Star Scout " if you like but it's happening now and its all around us, you just gotta look! Read the the conditons and the way "User Account Control" interfaces with the built in Administrator and as far as logic goes it ia all about retarding an individuals access to their own machines then ask "Why is that so?" And the possiblities, even stretches like the scenario i described are not so unbelievable,

If this is the future - they can jam it!
LOL
Microsoft is leading the way in knowing what is best for us.... yeah right
I'm totally fed up with who ever is directing this bad comedy playhouse because I am not laughing or playing the straight man anymore. Further episodes like this and I'm gonna try Linux or take up meditation and hum a lot or something --- Tis a pity because th system is fine, it is just the interface is crud, but the worst of all is the meddling and the invasion of your space by these digital agents or entities that are beginning to reside in OUR machines - it's mega big brother in my opinion!

How was your day?

Regards to all
