Aww, the Passport is on sale right now. I can technically afford it, but I need to start exercising fiscal responsibility more

I was given an upgrade from my Samsung Galaxy SII to a Samsung Galaxy J3 by my daughter as a birthday present - she said she received a good discount since it was an upgrade only.
The J3 looks modern, has a nice OLED screen, and runs some android apps on lollipop that the old SII can't on jellybean. The camera's OK and the whole thing is easier to use than the SII. It has a removable battery, and about 3x the battery life of the SII, which was hopeless, and impossible not to get counterfeit batteries for it, being so out of date - no reputable battery manufacturer makes them for the SII any more, only low capacity rip-offs.
I use a Pay as You Go full size SIM on the old phone, and it was easy for the high street O2 shop to give me a micro SIM for the new one. I just had to give the guy my old phone's number, and I read the code that was sent to it in a message back to him - I guess he tied that to the Micro SIM ID, and when I put it in the J3, it was activated after a couple of hours.
Although it transferred my apps over, it failed to transfer 90% of my contact details, oddly. I need to go back to the shop to get that sorted out.
I bought a nice, inexpensive protective back cover, in a tactile black perforated plastic material, and I shall be mounting that, with a couple of strips of black heavy duty stick-on Velcro, onto the inside of a black leather filofax (remember them?) that fits the phone perfectly.
Much of the paper stuff can go, since it relates to 1988, and that won't be back anytime soon! (remember cellphones in 1988?)
If I need to use the camera, I'll just peel the J3 away from the filofax. For most other uses it will stay in the filofax, and be called a filofone.
I was given a FREE , I mean totally FREE- Samsung Galaxy Note 3 - Phablet with the really big screen by AT&T 5.7 " screen .
Actually it's like a small pc . the camera is really great, sharp focus , front and back cameras.
Just a few days ago I got a Samsung Galaxy S7
