I've got enough problems with my own without trying someone elses, besides I never go anywhere so don't need any others.

I'm slowly coming to terms with it, it's not easy though and I have my bad days but I'll be better when I'm nearer to my daughter and grandchildren and they can visit often.

Yeah, it can be difficult for a while after losing close family, but it does slowly get better.

This is why they say the English language is the hardest to learn, I'm English and don't understand all the rules.
    Try Danish counting!

    59 literally translates as

    9 plus half three.

Like German, they say units before 10s.

Half Three means 3 minus a half (as half is before three) i.e
half three is TWO AND A HALF.

So how do we get to 59 from

    9 plus 2 and a half.

Now here is the really obscure Danish bit.

Danish counting is based on twenty NOT ten (presumably they used toes as well as fingers to count).

However the 20 part is now implied. (It was used centuries ago but got dropped as too cumbersome).

So 9 plus 2 and a half is actually

    9 + (2 and half)x20

    Simple eh!

    All other Scandinavians use

    9 + five x 10 (fifty basically means five x ten).

I was never any good at maths in the first place so you've now made it a lot worse, so think I'll give Danish a miss.
