You do not need a webcam or microphone, the text chat also works. Also in yesterday's chat we had members who only participated through the text chat.

Hope everyone had a great time. One of these days I'll get a webcam & find my microphone & join you all.
Borg, webcams have built in microphones.

You should get that webcam; those meetings are really fun and informative. I think we learned at least three great things yesterday!

Yeah, that would be me with the (probably) broken webcam. Gotta find someone who will chat with me on Skype to be sure. Maybe my friend Barbara will be ready to learn Skype. :)

This is true, but it is much easier to talk with the other members if you have a mic.

Yes that's true but for that you can also use any WiFi capable Windows or Android phone or tablet, an iPhone or an iPad. It don't have to be a PC with a webcam.

I'm not sure what happened to me this time, the first session we did I had no problems and was able to join in and talk and see people without problems. This time though the layout looked completely different to the first time and I couldn't get my web-cam working, it told me it was already in use, stupid thing I never use it and only now for these sessions.

I'm wondering if it might have been because I was in my 8.1 while a VM was running installing the new build of 10.

Wynona I have Skype, I used it once to talk to a friend in Canada and again to see my grandkids. It's better if the other person has Skype as well because it doesn't cost anything then, the only reason I do it.

Same here, Joan. Nothing seemed to be working for me either and the layout was totally different for me than the last time, but I laid it onto Skype for Business.

Probably not, because I was in Windows 10 both times, although I did have different Builds installed. I believe Kari had been forced to revert to 10074 because 10122 was misbehaving for him. I was in 10122 and things worked as well as could be expected for me. :)

Yes, I'll have to teach her to set it up (can you say, "Blind leading the blind.")? I think, though, that she could make good use of it because she could talk to and see her out of state relatives. It would be great to set up a group visit for her; she'd love that!
