Having quickly taken a quick look round this forum, I am quietly pleased with finding it. Clearly there is much written that will go over this old head of mine, but equally, there is much I will understand. It's odd really because I had no intention, no, I never thought I would ever be using windows 10, but with an ageing acer aspire running vista which was still going strong, a hinge broke making movement of the lid impossible.

By chance, a family member currently abroad, bought a reconditioned laptop running windows 8 and had it delivered to me, to await his October arrival, but the laptop arrived on the last day of the free upgrade to 10, so I did it for him, that helped me make up my mind, however I bought a £400 HP brand new, so we will both tread the windows 10 path together.

Despite all the negative press initially, I am finding it ok. I have decided that using chrome in the way I am used to, maybe old fashioned, but couldn't get my head round edge.

Anyway, onwards and upwards.
