Just Another Day on Aerosol Earth
Take a deep breath. Even if the air looks clear, it is nearly certain that you will inhale millions of solid particles and liquid droplets. These ubiquitous specks of matter are known as aerosols, and they can be found in the air over oceans, deserts, mountains, forests, ice and every ecosystem in between.

Just another day of destruction caused by human interaction with Mother Earth, but I digress...
And, I sense a learning moment for Cast.
It was the right thing to do to give credit to the picture's source but it would of been helpful if s/he applied the link to the source credit done this way: NASA/Joshua Stevens/Adam VoilandLast Updated: Aug. 24, 2018 or this way: Just Another Day on Aerosol Earth
I found if you click on the: visualization link on that page It takes you to the Earth Observatory page for Just Another Day on Aerosol Earth, it includes most of the same verbiage that is on the NASA page but superimposes explanations near the regions of activity and includes a legend of what's what. There is also a second aerosol picture of the Eurasian landmass.
All in all a good post @Cast; I would have given rep because it shows us your concern for this rock we live on and an effort to make others aware, but the rep feature is unavailable in this forum.
You're welcome Cast, hopefully it is a lesson learned.
If you don't have a VR/MR headset grab the video with your mouse to move it around:
