I'm not sure how this will benefit marine ecosystem.

What ever is left over after it tears itself apart on reentry will hit the water with such force it will be either be pancaked or shredded.
You're right, I forgot to plug that into the equation.

Heck, NASA has 10years why don't they contact the big three, Musk. Bezos, Branson. they could turn it into a restaurant/lounge or hotel.
One of those guys has plans for an orbiting hotel.

All three do, to some extent but this company may beat them all:
To accommodate such a jaunt, the Sacramento start-up Orbital Assembly Corporation (AOC) has announced plans to open a space hotel by 2027. As the first of its kind, Voyager Station is slated to be a luxury resort designed to accommodate 280 guests and 112 crew members, complete with a restaurant, a bar, a concert hall, a gym and even a cinema.

And according to this article the owner John Blincow isn't adverse to letting at least Musk get in on the action.
"We're trying to make the public realize that this golden age of space travel is just around the corner. It's coming. It's coming fast," Blincow told CNN in an interview. Golden age indeed, as space tourism has piqued the interest of such visionaries as Richard Branson and Elon Musk. And it's the latter Blincow and his team hope to partner with in the near future. "We cannot call [Musk's] SpaceX our partner, but in the future we look forward to working with them," Blincow said at a recent live, asking the viewers to "hang tight."

The only problem I see with a space hotel is, solar CMEs and cosmic radiation. Well, the bar serving booze might be one to.
