Your Favorite Radio Station - Does not have to be local...

I'm a massive music fan and I have the radio on, PC, all the time I don't have my TV on. Why, well I love music, I can't stand being in a totally quiet room and music just calms me.

So, over the last say, 6-7 years these are the stations that I really like:
    USA:
    1. KFOG - San Francisco CA... Rock/Alternative..
    2. WBOS - Boston MA .. Rock..
    3. WFCR - Amherst MA.. NPR Classical/Jazz
    4. 94/7 Alternative Portland OR.. Rock/Alternative.. must use website..
    5. 101X Alternative Austin TX.. Alternative/Rock.. again,, must use website..

    UK:
    1. Absolute Radio London England... Rock
    2. Absolute Radio 80's London England.. Rock

I'll add more.. Oh and I use either RadioSure or TapinRadio to play the stations.

    Ok,, time to share, :)

Wow.. cool. I never really listed to the radio that much until the past 8 years. Now that I can stream stations from around the US/World I can find ones that I like.

I guess I only listen to the radio in the car.
It's usually tuned to 104.3 WOMC Detroit.

I listen to the stations that Erin puts on when we're in the car. She gets to control the radio and AC when we go out. .. Heck.. do I have a choice.

On Lumia phones, they have a pre-installed app called MixRadio, which is pretty good. You tell it what type of music you want to listen to or alternatively artists you like and it'll create a 'radio station' based on those. The free version only allows you to skip 6 songs an hour (or something like that). You can also download over WIFI and listen to them offline if you want. So it basically means you don't have to put up with annoying news broadcasts, ads and radio DJ's who like the sound of their own voice.

There's also a MixRadio Windows store app, but the free version is a waste of time as it'll only allow you to listen to 30 seconds of each song (or something like that). Not sure what the future will be for MixRadio though, Microsoft acquired it when they bought Nokia devices and services, but then sold it to Line Corporation (which was completed about a month ago), presumably because Microsoft want to concentrate on Xbox music. Hopefully MixRadio in it's current form will be here to stay for Lumia owners though.
