Might be hard to find a laptop case thick enough. My ASUS K75DE is a big laptop, well wide anyway, 17 inch screen, and my Pi wouldn't fit in it. You'd likely have to find an old clunker/desktop replacement. How big is that screen?

The backgammon case looks like a good way to go. Carry handle, incognito. Nobody would know what it was until you opened it. Especially if everything fits inside and you don't cut any holes in it. My wife's Acer laptop has a 15 inch screen and is supper slim. I'd be hard pressed to get a model A Pi inside it.

The early "portable" PC's did. You needed it to carry it around. They were big monsters in a box. I have a laptop carry bag that has a strap and a handle.

It's going to cost you for one of those ruggedized units though.

well, I spent most of the afternoon putting in a clothes line pole for a friend of my wife's ,and then went to the church and found the back gammon case, and it will work just great ,I will have to make something up so the top will not go all the way flat ,that should be easy to do,,

A short chain may work. Like the ones used to attach your bathtub drain plug. They have an eyelet at both ends and you can easily shorten it to what ever length you want. Or you might be able to find those scissor hinges at a hardware store. The display fit in there nicely.

great tips thanks ,I will check home hardware for a set of those hinges ,I'm sure I did see them there ,they would be best because they will lock in place and I was thinking of the chain you mentioned .. yup the screen fits great ,I'm just going to cut of some of the lower metal where the hinge attached ,so I can lower it down a bit so the bezel will fit in flush along the top ,
