Free e-Book on programing in python, https://www.raspberrypi.org/python-i...-oreilly-book/ I just downloaded it, haven't looked at it yet. To do the projects I have in mind I'm pretty sure I'm going to have to learn some python.
its just a book on python in education , not a actual free book on learning python ,unless i click on the wrong link in there some where, an interesting read just the same

Grabbed that thanks. I have a couple I nabbed on bit torrent. Just have to sit down and read them. The plan is to have the PDF open on my laptop and actually try it on my Pi sitting next to it. That was the original reason for my portable Pi build. Right now I'm putting it off until the weather gets to where I can go out on my deck. If I get bored enough I may start early though. I don't really have the room in the house to setup my laptop and the Pi without getting in the way of the daily routine. My house is a bit on the small side and with just me and the wife home now, she has her nick nacks spread out on the table etc. The deck and gazebo are my area to do with as I please and clutter up with my stuff, if you know what I mean. I just have to wait out the weather for now.

I'll save that image. A card comes with the cobbler showing what GPIO pin is what. Like what is in the top left corner of your image
