    BleepingComputer Sued By Enigma Software.

    *Attention*

Please Help BleepingComputer Defend it's Freedom of Speech!

EnigmaSoft is suing us, because of a negative review of SpywareHunter.

EnigmaSoft doesn't like this post and instead of defending their product they're bullying us into censoring it. In the past Enigma Software has being a bully to other I.T and review websites.

We are asking for your help to defend the lawsuit. It is true, but we cannot fight alone by ourselves, but you can help crowdfund our defense. By donating you are helping BleepingComputer move 1 inch to freedom and to keeping our site from being taken down. If BleepingComputer loses this battle it will only embolden EnigmaSoft to silence other I.T blogs, sites and Social Media.

"We also need your help to spread the word to other sites as well to help our cause"

Enigma are trying to bully us into censoring their bad review. As quietman said Enigma Software in the past has filed many misleading lawsuits to other companies including McAfee. I would classify this as a "scare" tactic to lure other companies to delete such posts.

SpyHunter sues BleepingComputer over a bad review

BleepingComputer under free speech attack as SpyHunter makers sue over bad review | Network World

Enigma Software claims in its lawsuit (pdf) that BleepingComputer has the negative SpyHunter review because it takes part in an affiliate advertising program which grants BleepingComputer a commission for redirecting users to Malwarebyte’s site. The Enigma Software Group claims, “Bleeping not only has unlawfully benefited from its smear campaign to the detriment of ESG, it has damaged the reputation of ESG by refusing to take down its false and misleading statements which have been reposted numerous times on other anti-spyware related forums and websites.”
“It is incredibly frustrating that a company comes along and slaps us with a lawsuit because a volunteer moderator expressed his honest opinion about a product to protect consumers. Our moderator, Quietman7, earns nothing from helping on the site and yet has posted over 40,000 posts in the forums. If you think about the amount of time he has devoted to helping others for free it is staggering!”
BleepingComputer currently asks for donations, Malwarebytes CEO donated $5000.
Spyhunter was listed as rogue even here: Rogue/Suspect Anti-Spyware Products
2-spyware.com defends Spyhunter and lists it as a top notch product.
I consider Spyhunter as a typical scareware. What is your opinion?

No opinions please on if their software is junk or not, I don't want to get sued.

I have however blocked all their ad accounts from advertising on any of our sites.

Good point, moderators should probably avoid commenting on the issue.
