    Just ordered this puppy - arrives in a week. I wanted to consolidate my individual external data drives - I keep copies of my data across multiple drives and periodically sync them - I find this more secure than mirroring, etc. as I can periodically power up and sync and then power off and remove a drive. So I was looking for a JBOD enclosure for which the drives could be independently powered up/down, and could be easily removed/insterted. This USB-C connected enclosure also has the advantage of providing a USB-C hub:

    I have a really old case. It's a Cooler Master ATCS 840. Has 3x 230mm fans. Well it can take 200mm or 230mm.
    Anyway, the front 230mm intake is dying, so I needed a replacement.

    The other two are top exhaust fans, and don't have to deal with hardly any dust.

    Well, there's dust filters on all the intakes, but this case still sucks dust.
    The front and the two on the top are the 230mm fans.
    All others are 120mm.

    Booted up my PC the other day and got five long beeps, then noticed that the CPU error light was on on my motherboard.

    I figured I should go ahead and order replacements, which I did (see below), but now my PC is working fine again and the error light is off.

    Oh well, an accidental upgrade is definitely better than a "your PC is broken and won't work until you get new parts" upgrade.
