    Mike, strange you should say that, I've been fully AMD for quite a few years and I did consider a Ryzen, but decided to take a trip back [to the dark side / Light Side ], to have a play with things like Optane Memory with Adobe Lightroom, the secondary SSD in the spec is basically for holding my LR database, and the Optane should speed up access to the actual Images.

    AMD has a similar thing AMD StoreMI Review | NDTV Gadgets360.com I'm in the market to buy another 4TB HDD and will try it on that.

    I am tempted by the StoreMI tech, not long updated my CPU to a R7 2700 from a R5 1400, just need to upgrade my motherboard, but I'm reluctant because of Microsoft's lovely activation issues when changing so many components, I've had a lot of upgrades over the last couple of months, upgraded my GPU, RAM and CPU.

    Yes, with that CPU you would definitively benefit from a 400 series chipset. MS activation is tied up with MB only.

    Might have a look at one with addressable RGB so I can turn this stupid red ring off on the CPU cooler too.

    I wondered about that to, look at blackroseMD1's post # 1208 on page 121 in this thread.
