JBL Club 950NC
JBL Club 950NC | Wireless over-ear noise cancelling headphones.
I was led to believe that some USB dongles are universal and the W11 desktop PC software will transmit the sound to the headphones.
I am asking because I have one (not universal) that came with a mouse but all it will see is the mouse.
You don't need any special software for BT transmission. The issue is mostly BT not working or people not understanding/following the connection procedures for said BT item.
I'm have a pair of Bose NC 700 phones (no Bose software) connected to my Windows 11 PC without issue. Some devices do come with software (as does my Bose) but the software is more about item features, and never about the actual connection. BTW, my Android phone is also connected via BT, which in turn uses Microsoft's Phone Link software.
Simply make sure BT in Windows it turned on and follow instructions for the item to be connected to said PC. Also make sure BT in Windows stays on since once its disconnected all BT devices cease to function.
Thanks Drew, hope you're doing good. I may have to try one those $20 USB plug & play transmitters so W11 will install the BT driver.
If your motherboard or PC has BT built in, Windows will supply a base driver. Or if your board has something fancy you can install the drivers yourself from the board manufacturer. My Gigabyte motherboard in my system specs has its own board drivers, but since they are now old, I simply use those supplied by Windows, and again no issues
Again, simply insure BT is enabled in Windows. From the device to be connected turn on BT mode (per instructions) and if all is well, Windows will see it and ask to connect. Depending on the device it may ask/show a pairing code. Confirm and connect.
Tutorial - Turn On or Off Bluetooth in Windows 10
Nope, never been a fan of WiFi my rig is totally hardwired. I have to admit this BT works well so far.
Wi-Fi and BT (Bluetooth) are two different protocols. You don't connect to the internet via BT, you connect via "Wi-Fi". Whether a PC is wired or wireless doesn't matter to BT transmissions.
My question had to do with inclusion - some (most) motherboards (typically upper mid to high-end) include a BT module, either built-in or separate card. And pretty much all laptops of today have BT built into them. Thus, the question was does your motherboard not have BT built-in?
Both systems in my system specs do so there's no need to add a BT dongle. Nor do I need one for my laptops. Here's my main rig's built-in card. It says Wi-Fi, but it's also for Bluetooth transmissions. Here under "Wireless Communication module".
