I had an 8.4" one a long time ago, gave it to my daughter, and now it's time to get a new one. I've tried many tablets and this is the best one I ever had.

I paid a little extra to eliminate the "offers". No ads!

I looked at them a while ago but went with a samsung as the amazon one's forced you to use their cut down version of the Play Store, which meant I could not load some more specialist software that I sometimes need

I just want it for regular stuff; nothing special, so it's fine with me.

I think that amazon are no longer running their own app store, or at least not making it compulsory to use it so it's not a current issue

Oh, good. I got to thinking and wondering if Office 365 (Word, Excel and PowerPoint [IIRC]) would be available to me, since I beta tested. Been awhile since I've even been on the Google newsgroups, since I'm not a huge Google fan to start with.
