@badrobot, thank you for your suggestion. You are in Canada and may be that is the reason why you suggest Kanto .

    1. That pair may be good as a Desktop / Living room audio but those are not portable at 7. 5 lbs a pair. Marshall Kilburn is portable and can run on its rechargeable batteries for 20 hrs (+ or -). No need to hunt for a pair of wall sockets.

    2. I can buy those Kanto on Amazon India (available) but those sellers import it from USA on order and it costs INR 30000/- that includes the import duty. Marshall Kilburn ordered on Amazon USA will cost me USD 300 + import duty USD 203 +Shipping totalling to INR 40000/- The Indian Distributor imports it directly from China and the cost price is INR 27000/-. The discounted price in Amazon India is INR 15500/-(Marshall UK fabricates the Speakers in China) .And so there I am ( Marshall also has service centers in India run by its distributor and comes with a one year warranty. Direct imports carry no warranty - unless I carry those to USA to avail warranty services )

Just a few hours ago, my Kilburn was delivered and after charging it fully, ran it for 5 or 10 minutes - just a preliminary run to confirm that everything works as intended. No complaints. Everything works ( or else I can return it for a refund. Amazon India will pick it up from my home and refund as soon as it is picked up by its own courier service, Amazon Transport Services) .
There are similar and more popular speakers similar to Kanto like the Audio engines. But Kanto has better connectivity options.
For portable speaker with high quality sound, look also at Sony SRS-HG1 with built-in Chromecast.

Is the rechargeable battery in Sony SRS -HG1 user-replaceable? ( Probably not. ) On any high cost device ( Cost exceeding INR 5000- USD 70 ) I would look for it instead of throwing away all hardware just because the battery life is over. ( I don't need a waterproof/ water resistant device.) I can't afford throw-aways .

Even in the case of Marshall Kilburn many users got stuck when the battery died since the battery pack was not available. ( Kilburn will still work on mains power) . Fortunately the battery pack is now available for USD50 on Amazon USA. ( I shall order one to be delivered to my daughter in USA. Lithium Ion batteries have a shelf life of 10 years. I expect the batteries on my Kilburn to last five years.)

I had to pick up this 1000w EVGA PSU because that sale price at Newegg is irresistible. I'm currently using a non-modular Antec that's probably 7 years old at this point.

I was torn between Bose Quiet Comfort 35 II and this Sennheiser PXC 550. They are both in the same price range. But I thought the PCX 550 is more stylish and has more unique features than the QC35.Everything else are almost the same (sound quality and comfortability). Just ordered one today.

Hi, the Sennheiser HD 4.40 is not a noise cancelling headphone. The most cost efficient noise cancelling headphone you can get is the Sennheiser HD 4.50 BTNC. It has the same active noise cancelling (ANC) technology as the PXC.

The Sennheiser PXC series is at par with Bose QC35 II and Sony WH1000 Mark 3 ANC headphones. I chose the PXC because of the intuitive touch/swipe controls and better bass distribution than Bose. I didn't consider the WH1000 because of it's bulkiness in design.
Plus the 30hr battery life of the PXC is amazing.

Cost efficient???? In USA HD4.5 BTNC costs twice as much as HD4.4 BT ( no NC). In India it is 2.57 x.

ANC is not my requirement. Most reviews I had read indicate that HD 4.4BT is good enough. "The device sits tightly in place, creating an acoustic seal which reduces background noise and prevents your music from leaking out." https://versus.com/en/sennheiser-hd-...r-hd-4-50-btnc

So it is a wallet Vs bragging rights

That's not quite the right way to say it...

    It's "Need" vs "Want".
You got what you need, I got what I want...

But to be honest... ANC is a game changer. I have a Bose without NC and now I don't want it anymore.
