Over 70% is at the age of 41 or older. What is it with this site that attracts the older age groups? Or maybe the better question is; why am I here? I'm young and in minority.
no such thing Faith. We are all learners, whatever the date on our birth cert.

I have just passed 70 birthday, I still feel as young as 90!!!!

When we entered the 'computer age', invented by the brits, I started by writing software on the sinclair ZX81 for my son. He is now 43 and running an IT dept for the Military abroad. Then I began building my own pcs after being ripped off for £800 for a 180mb HDD 8MB pc in the 90s. !!! Win 3.1 and 3.11 barely fitted on the HDD!

About 15 years ago I gave up building my own and had pc's built to order; actually cheaper and better.

I stated off Zx81 then the American Version Timex-Sinclair 1000. I remember coding Machine
Code because it was faster . Bought a Spectrum While I was England I believe the price was 60 pounds
    at that time.

I bought the ZX-81 1k, not the Timex one, mail order for $99.95 $5 shipping. Later bought the 16K ram pack.

My ZX-81 let out the blue smoke, but someone I know gave me his complete set up.
