    Cars is fun
I try keeping mine as a sleeper.. the "find five wrongs" is hard to hide.. the low ground clearance, the 3inch exhaust, bucket-seats, the uneven idle, the dark aggressive sound. i can not manage to hide those things.
it is relaxing doing analog stuff.. all my hobbies is analog.. computers is work.. or use to be work, as I am on sick leave since a few years. But i still get the work feeling when I'm fixing computers.
22 or 23years ago i did have an Dodge Dart Sport 74.. The only American car i have now is a Jeep Grand Cherokee and for good mileage i have an boring Skoda Octavia on 110HP.
I had sound pretty well in check, despite about 150HP boost over original it was running very smooth with headers branching to 4 lines and all exhausting at back, only a deeps sound you would expect from a big block that was originally in it. Wheel rims looked original and they were but widened to accept 16" 69 tires all tucked in with original small hub cups on them. Even paint was original blue shade just metallic. Only under the hood you could se non original parts like Offenhouser high rise intake, valve covers and enormous air cleaner covering ab 850 cfm Holly 4 barrel. Most enjoyed when somebody assumed it was slow and got surprised when beat at a traffic light. Many times somebody would ask "Hey buddy, what you got in there"? and I would tell then "A 250 slant six", That would make them sorry for their high priced brand new sports car. They didn't know it was doing sub 11 seconds on 1/4 mile. You should have seen their faces !!! Precious.

Me to but after readin' yours an Marie's it seems I've lived a sheltered life.

In the early 70's/50¢ gas I had a 67 Chevy / 283 with PP (powerpack) heads, manual, that would beat 350's regularly an some 396's $$$ Then a 61 Ford van and from there to now, trucks. I have an '03 Silverado 4x4 with 56k original miles now.

Mike did your Citroen or Fiat have adjustable rear air suspension? My dad had a Peugeot that did. I forget the year but iirc somewhere early 70's.

    Hi Marie.

    Hi Marie.
No they didn't all Citroen had was central lubricating point and knuckle shocks with torsion bars, front drive with transmission/diff in front of engine, and very long shifter bars which kept on tangling. Topolino was classic front engine 500cc and something like 16HP. and rear drive, wood frame body. Citroen was monocoque body even then.

It is a bit easier to hide the sound of 150 boosted in a V8 big block with three times cylinder volume, then 200 boosted in a tiny 4cylinder engine 2.3L 2300cc (i have no good calculator to translate it to cubic-inches)
Mine does 11.87 on a 1/4 mile, but i get wheel-spin in the start and when i kick in the second gear. I don't want to get wider tires as I don't want to break the rear axle or the gearbox... spin is better then a cleaned out box.

so yeah i do know their faces as i have engaged in a few red-light races myself.

    Nice car.

I have no recent picture of mine.. as i stopped going to car-shows after 2010.. so it do not shine as much nowadays, even if it still in perfect condition.

So this is mine the summer of 2010 a Volvo only car show in south sweden (Ånnaboda).
And.. it was before i dropped it another inch and put in bucket-seats.. It was still road comfortable in 2010. *LOL*

351Ci is 5.8 liters or 5800cc, V8 still counted as a "Small block" this particular 1971 model had large heads and 4 bolt mains in so called "Marine block" (meaning it gad higher chrome content) originally with 300HP (ordinary one 275HP). Heads had larger valves and were at an angle enabling very big intake and exhaust ports, Specs for fuel were 102 octane minimum nut at that tome in 1980s only 86 octane was available, When I was rebuilding I thought to lower compression that was 11.2:1 because it was knocking like crazy. buy getting lover pistons, instead I over bored it to 366Ci which lowered compression to 10;1 low enough for 92 octane fuel that became available. i was working at a company which had one factory in Toronto for rebuilding engines and got the best aftermarket parts available and work for free. By that time engine already had over 500 000 miles on it so why not. Aluminum parts Ofenhauser intake, valve covers and oil pan I got for next to nothing on car swap meet/flea markets, Front disk brakes were free to as that's what my factory was making anyway and rear differential famous 9" ford Positraction from a 1960s Lincoln that also had disks. It took me a year ti finish up truck but with all that help of free parts I even had some of insurance money left over, Most expensive part was painting including chassis de-rusting and plastifiacation.
