Hi Emma. Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us. Many people live their entire lives without being comfortable with themselves or for that mater being confident enough to share their feelings. Happy Holidays and I hope you enjoy good fortune for the coming year.

Joan.........."it just another Friday", that is just how I feel. When I was younger I said I would have a Christmas Tree even if I was alone. I don't feel that way anymore.

You are not alone Emma, certainly not while you are a member of this forum.
Wishing you a peaceful Christmas, and a happy, healthy, prosperous New year.
    Regards dencal.

My day went just fine. I did a load of laundry and the usual................ movies, reading, jigsaw puzzles and playing with the computer, and.............peace and quiet. The only thing I missed is the Christmas dinner.

    Thank you Dencal

The wife & I went to Las Vegas, which might be the beginning of a trend. Have a friend out there that is from New Jersey, and doesn't go back because she watches birds & dogs. My family I've disowned, my parents are gone, and the inlaws is hectic with 5 under 13, plus the fact that she doesn't cook (we had Stouffer's lasagna - gross) At Christmas dinner the wife looked at me and said "Now I know why you wanted to stay there for Christmas..."

My wife died 27 years ago so with the exception of my basset hounds Fred, Fred II and Fred III, I have been alone for Christmas.

Many of you may have seen my boys but for the record, this is Fred III and Fred II is my avatar.

Keager, The Opryland Hotel in Nashville is a wonderful place to spend Christmas, it was a bus tour. I did that one year with my friend. It wasn't on Christmas day but close enough. We saw the ice sculptures and the Rockettes which was the best thing of all.

Jadinolf, very precious pup you have there. Pets are wonderful and good company. I was going to move to a new home and the first thing I was going to do was rescue a dog. I decided not to move and I don't have a fence here and it's to late now because of my age. It wouldn't bet fair for a pet. I am 79 today and alone and enjoying my quiet day.
