    Anyone ever take apart and/or repair a HDD?


    Wondering... Where can I get parts, testing or diagnostic tools, etc. so that I can recover or repair a hdd? How would you go about learning how to do such a thing? Is it stupid to even be considering this?

    HDD's are factory sealed in a dust free environment & opening them exposes them to contamination. But there are articles to be found on repairing them.
