Nothing wrong with that. It's good to have the means to protect herself. Crossbows as well, eh? I've always wanted one, but since I would need a special permit to hunt with one, I stay with my trusty old compound bow.

Thanks Borg! Yup, there are advances in medicine all the time, but sometimes the costs are prohibitive and insurance companies don't want to pay for it.

A tip I learned from a few doctors & nurses with all the contact I've had with medical professionals: I was told that a doctor can push just about anything through an insurance company if they want to. They know the codes or how to find them to make allowances for things to get authorized.

Just like my CT scan 2 days ago. I'm only allowed 1 every 3 years (I had one 1 1/2 yrs ago), but the oncologist called the insurance company & got it authorized right there & then that day.

Be persistent with your doctor if you want to try something that may not be covered. They may find a way to get you what you want.

Good point! I have a brother-in-law, who has been battling cancer for 10 years now and the insurance company told him that if he needed anymore PetScans, he would have to pay for them. But the Oncologist was able to work that out with the insurance company and he hasn't had to pay for them.

Here we go again with the subject of insurance companies. It raises the hair on my neck and my OMS is kicking in! I can feel it!

Just like on "How It's Made".

I suppose all this stuff, as all food processing, has to be made with stainless steel, therefore expensive, so you do it yourself.
With Honey it does not have to be all stainless but every thing that touches honey for me is food approved or stainless the table top however will be aluminum as I do not have the tools for working stainless. Here is a picture of the unit as it sits now. I have removed the old table top as it was granite and not too easy to work. Attachment 37988

Same thing goes for most medication. Your insurance company may say they don't allow a particular medication or don't cover it, but if your doctor can prove you need it (in most instances they can), they will allow it. You might be paying a bit more then the standard deductible, but most of it will be covered.

Don't let it get to you, it's just a part o life & the things you have to deal with....unfortunately. The trick is to learn the system & use it towards your advantage.
