I can't help thinking that as the W10 deadline approaches ........?

As the deadline for the end of W10 approaches, and the news that Microsoft will still provide security updates for a further 3 years.
    (At a price ) !!

Are there any tech companies working on a hardware work around ?

How many billions of Computers are going to end up in landfill because of this latest TPM issue.
I run a PC with a Asus Z97 Motherboard, 32GB of DDR3 ram, i74790K CPU, and yes, it has TPM 2 ability, and has the little TPM 2 plugin installed.

I find it almost beyond belief that one of the Tech companies are incapable of manufacturing a board for a PC with a spare PCI slot, that could insert a dedicated security hardware & software device, that would enable full functionality of W11.
Full functionality being the operative phrase, not just a workaround to get W11 installed.

No doubt the Tech companies are looking forward to the bonanza of sales in the future, as people dump their equipment in the billions, all into landfill.

Supposing just ONE tech company was to break ranks and create such a board, can you imagine the demand for, and profits involved, for such a device ?

To me, it is just absurd that such a device that could be used in a spare PCI slot, could not be created.

I have no intension of retiring any hardware as a result of Windows 10 lack of support. I'll just keep running Windows 10 as is anyway. Just my personal choice. It's not like I haven't done it already in the past with previous Windows operating systems.
I'll just wait and see how it plays out. I can legally run Education or Enterprise if that gets me longer support. I run Pro at the moment.

    I understand how you feel.
Microsoft has treated us all like dirt withy this move.

A couple of days ago I installed Linux Zorin on another drive, and I am mightily impressed.

Zorin OS Pro - Zorin OS

There are lots of good reviews on YouTube.

I have dozens of Raspberry Pi Single Board Computers here. Some run headless, some command line only, and some with a full Desktop GUI. They run Pi OS, which was originally based on Debian and was called Raspbian. Arm CPU's, no easy way to run Windows on them so Linux it is. That's not a complaint, it's just the way it is at the moment. I probably have just as many likes and dislikes with Linux as I do with Windows.

Looking at Zorin I am becoming more and more convinced that this is the way to go.
I have two machines, each one has a Z97 Mobo with TPM 2 capability, and 32GB of Ram, along with the i74790K CPU.
But uncle Bill says that's not good enough, and I must dump them into landfill and buy new equipment from his mates in the industry.

    Mmmm ?
    Yeah, right.

I opted for the Pro Version of Zorin which for just a few Pounds/Dollars comes with a lot of stuff already set up, or ready for download.
Transferring email accounts is so simple and automated it's almost embarrassing.

A feature with a big future has to be the inclusion of a addition called 'Wine' and or 'Bottles'
This feature enables some 'PC' software to run on Linux.
To me, that sounds like something that's going to have a very big future.
