I don't think so. Last time I was in UK (1996-2001) they were still using the Imperial units.
We use imperial from habit and metric is supposedly law for weights and measures. I sit here with a PINT of beer. My tape measure has BOTH But I use imperial. . Our monitors and tv are in inches, my monitor is a 27 inch. MY tv a 32. My Tablet is a 13 inch. I still use 4x2 wood in the garden, why change, we are imperialists hahahahahahaha.

One of the reasons many USA space probes failed was that they used imperial measurements and the software was metric

    My 2 cents:
Are the British cars a combination of imperial and metric as are the cars made in America? And not just cars, I have a 25 year old belt sander that uses both, plus most of my other machines.

In talking about measures and adding in electrics, we need to consider making changes in things we've done since 1800 and invention of the steam engine. Then we need to figure how to get rid of those things when changing to new devices.

We refer to monitor, TV and projector screen in inches too since that's how it was standardized. If you say the screen size in cm we will take some time to calculate what you mean. If you say it in inches we have an idea about how large that is.
