I value hardware compatibility and vast choice of software more, so I prefer Windows over Linux and Mac OS. Neither comes close to Windows. Also I want to get the maximum out of my PC and that means being able to do everything including gaming. I don't want to reduce it to a smart typewriter that can type documents and connect to the internet. Yet another reason to stay clear from Linux. Contrary to what Linux fans want you to believe, Linux cannot do everything Windows can and certainly not with the same ease of use. User friendly is also a VERY important factor. All of us that want to do our job or play a game without IT knowledge are not lazy. We just don't like making our lives more difficult than necessary. It's called common sense.

Well, there's always TempleOS....

Like I prefer real sugar in my coffee rather than any substitute, I prefer to use a really user friendly OS, that is Windows, rather than any other OS that try to imitate Windows but never is as good as the real thing. No matter how user friendly they can make Linux, no matter how similar to Windows is the GUI, it is no match for the real thing. Also don't forget the much greater hardware and software compatibility that you cannot find in Linux, unless you have a programmer friend constantly writing custom drivers and custom software.

I agree.. fanboys/girls, elitists and hobbyists always make it sound better then it is and they will bite your head of if you talk down(telling the truth) about Linux..
But....... that goes for the other camps too.. Windows and MacOS.. they has their army of them too.
Start using the name win10spyware and you soon see who they are
*LOL*
I say the truth over on Linux forum too, as i speak my mind about windows in here.
Here you have two of my post that might be entertaining.
*LOL* They was a bit less appreciated by Linux fanboys as i stepped on their toes as i have stepped on some in here when i swear about MS screwing up windows.... I hate Microsoft for not doing good OS's since win7.

Yeah.. so true, so true.. some hardware really sucks to linux.. i agree.. If you have an Nvidia card for example.. you have a big chance of having a hard time.. also to old Radeon cards is the same problem.. To new hardware and it is the same problem... But that is the manufacturer's fault as they dont provide drivers to linux..
So for those that even thinking of Linux, use intel based hardware as far as possible.. as Intel do provide drivers for Linux ![Smile](https://www.tenforums.com/images/smilies/001.png)
I always say... Use the right tool for the right job.. You dont use a fork to fix a roof leak, so why use wrong OS/software for things.
If you are a Gamer.. stay on windows, steamdeck, playstation, nintendo.. that is the right tools.. For video editing and stuff like that.. Mac is the shit even there is good software for win/linux, mac is still best... and for Pentesting and some kind of development, servers etc.. Linux is the right tool.
Try use windows for real pentesing.. its not a thing.
So win, linux, Mac sucks.. it all boils down to what sucks less for the things you planing to use your computer/s for. ![Smile](https://www.tenforums.com/images/smilies/001.png)
So i crap down equally on them all as no one is really good.. you have to tweak Windows, Linux or Mac to become survivable/decent/acceptable

I also like nice GUI's with a nice design and a good over-view for good workflow. ![Thumbs](https://www.tenforums.com/images/smilies/thumbs.gif)
that's why in the past i always used payed software over free to windows computers as free do not have the same quality do to lack of founds in the development.. Free is nice and good for many people.. but payed is better.. (all rules has exceptions though)
I dont want to be a party pooper... But Linux is not Windows.. as Windows is not MacOS... and linux dont try to become windows.... But Windows start to trying to become Apple.. as windows is kind of implementing Mac features like locking in the users in an Eco-system forcing users to use/have software they dont want.. Forcing users to have an online account..
This is Mac things that windows is imitating.. even win11 taskbar and the menu and apps in the center bottom is mac design for years and years back.
I like my coffee, black and hot.
.... But if i have not eaten for 15hours and start getting low blood sugar i use sugar in my coffee to get my blood sugar up a bit... in the same way, when i need working with some heavy Excel sheets, or i need Photoshop, banking and some government digital services that require special software etc.. i Use windows....
For learning pentesting, browsing the internet and doing research and things like that... i use Linux as its harder to infect linux then windows... as windows is a darn malware/virus magnet..
If i want to play a game, i dust off my playstation as that one beats windows.
So i dont use substitutes and neither should you or anyone else do either.. its just stupid to use the wrong tools.
The only time you use the wrong tool, if you bored and need to make the time fly.. or if you want to learn new stuff, or to see where the limit of the sky really are.
For how long and what year did you used Linux as you dislike it worse then me?. *LOL*

All Operating Systems are useful for something, just depends upon what that is for the users. I've had a computer on Linux Mint since version 13, has a couple three four things I find useful that a Windows computer can't handle as does its bootable LiveDVD or LiveUSB. Having a running computer quickly accessible can be better than going through the boot process.

I first time used Linux in the 90's and it was much less user friendly than it is today. Even today they are not as easy to use as Windows no matter how hard they try.
