    Good day everyone.

Raining here, again. Rain tomorrow as well. Wish we could get a lot more north of us, way north. Supposed to be another bad fire season.

Glad to her your wife is doing well @Borg 386 and that she got into a good facility. Sorry it is such a long commute for you.

A bit below average temps, mid to low 50's for today and the next 7 days. At least it's mostly dry, a couple of light showers today and Friday, then a dry and cloudy/bright week ahead.

It sounds like she'll get some good PT there, hopefully it will turn out to be a good thing in the long run...
    Afternoon Bree

Hopefully they can do something to actually help her with her foot being messed up. But they say they can still do walking exercises with a machine where she doesn't have to put much weight on it.

    Morning Computiac.

They had to go into her artery, it was clogged, they used one of those things where they inflate a balloon to clear the blockage

Hopefully she can make some progress, we were initially against her going there until her foot healed, but this is the way it worked out.....

    Morning Ken,

Yes, overall I suppose it is good she got in there, could have been under better circumstances but still glad she got in nonetheless.

It's really strange the way the system works.

After the stroke she was admitted to the hosp she is in now. Medicare covers that for 60 days, however the average stay there is 2 - 3 weeks. After that you go to a skilled nursing home for up to 4 months.

So when she got home & even when she was still in the skilled nursing home I tried to get her into various recovery programs, she was turned down for all of them, The reason is, apparently the way the system works, you have to be in the hosp for at least 3 days (admitted, 3 day qualifying stay). After that, the whole thing starts over again, you're eligible to get into a specialized care facilty & then after your stay there you go to a skilled nursing facility.

So that's how the system works here. To get the good treatment & go down the road again, you have to have that hosp stay, & it has to be spaced out 100 days from the last stay.

    Gotta love bureaucracy

Speaking of, I got a call for the city clerk, all the depts have approved the outside stair lift, but...it still has to be presented to the city council to authorize it...they said about 2 -3 weeks...

Like I said, gotta love bureaucracy....

One example, when she was home, I called several hospitals that specialized in stroke rehab. They all turned her down. But they did mention if she was hospitalized for something else, such as another stroke (yes, they really said that), then she could be admitted.
