With little or no risk of a late frost it was time for me to move my calamondin orange tree outdoors for the summer.
I planted this as a pip 43 years ago, it's now taller than I am.
How to Grow and Care for a Calamondin Orange Tree | BBC Gardeners World MagazineThe scientific name of calamondin orange is x Citrofortunella macrocarpa, and it’s thought to be a natural hybrid between a mandarin and a kumquat.
Good day everyone.
Okay day here, started with a lot of rain.
That is quite the tree Bree. How is the fruit?
This is the first time I've had so much fruit, until now it has had no more than half a dozen in a year.
It has an intense tangerine/mandarin flavour - it's also intensely sharp! As it says in my link above, it has... "...small yellow/orange fruit, which are used like lemons or limes in drinks and food, or eaten raw for a pop of sweet-sour flavour, the taste somewhere between a lemon and a satsuma".
