Interesting in a short term, scary in a long term, considering AI is literally supposed to replace humans.

Last week I tried inputting forum posts into it to see what answers it gave, tbh it was pretty good.

I sometimes use it to write letters.
It is good at composing various requests. It helps me in my work and saves time.

It appears to me personally, to have an inherent pc/woke bias. Depending upon what one my ask, of course.

    ChatGPT is way overrated, IMHO.

It's a smooth aggregator and I look forward to see what it will be in 5 years.

I don't get the technical stuff behind it, but I'm baffled form how well ChatGPT works. For example, I have a friend who's into programming and often praises it for its ability to write code/solve coding issues if you "ask the right question." He's been in that line of work for like 5 years now, but he still needs ChatGPT to dig him out of a corner :) Another friend uses it to quickly prepare new email campaigns alongside a free QRCG for reach new audiences (she runs a sports equipment shop and likes to offer discounts that way).

So, even if a lot of its fame stems from Google's "war" against it, it seems that the tool is genuinely helpful, and fairly priced at that. I only hope that it does not herald the rise of Skynet, as I've seen on the net lol

The bigger issue is that companies will use this as an excuse for making people redundant, not caring that bots only do as they are programmed to do, and cannot "think out of the box", or provide honest empathy - can you imagine a bot on the Samaritans helpline!!!

No matter what people think, these bots are not intelligent - worse, they are not sentient but companies will not care an iota if it saves them cash!

Well, apparently one country got nervous about AI, but it looks like it has to do with EU privacy rules.

I doubt they'll ban it in the USA.

Italy just banned ChatGPT. Could the US be next? | ZDNET
