I didn't need to investigate when i open the computer it was obvious the first thing i saw...... Three bad capacitors.. 6.3V 1800µF

So i removed the motherboard and now is the question.. do i have spare parts at home.

    Enjoy the disaster. *lol*

Hopefully they didn't take any other components with them. Good luck.

    Thanks

with visual inspection, it looks good.. I'm going to measure the "surroundings" when i have removed the capacitors.. I have the soldiering iron on warmup now.. I did not have the same capacitors at home.. so it will be 2200 instead of 1800.. but that should not be a problem as its just over 1800.
If it works i will post a happy end photo.. if not.. I'm going to have a cup of coffee and start thinking of what computer to replace it with as my dear TV-computer is of high priority. *LOL*

Be warned it is risky to unsolder the caps due to the multilayer board it is better to solder to the old leads without taking out the old component by taking the cap apart to get to the leads from the top.

I always unsolder them.. High temperature and short "touch-time" or how to say it is the best approach.
Edit: I heat up both legs at the same time when i pull the capacitor, that way it becomes a very short heating that dont spread in the layers.

This was the result and the computer passed the tests and has now been running a movie for 43minutes.. So it seems as i dont have to watch regular broadcast TV tonight.

Be glad you don't have a smart TV.

Read an article a couple years back about an expose about smart TV's, they talked to someone that worked on the inside of that industry. They asked the guy if they do indeed spy on you. The guy said "Of course they do, they're cheap to compete with other brands & they have to make their money back somehow. And that's how they do it, selling your data to 3rd party brokers. Some brands report the data directly to 3rd parties without you knowing it."

We have the last of the Plasma TV's, a Samsung 60", got it a few years back right before they went off the market. They had the best picture, but got killed off due to their high electricity use. It's a "semi-smart" TV, has some smart features, but I made sure to turn all those off.
Turn off the Wi-Fi in the TV...
