We are getting lots and lots of rain today. At this time of year that is great, it could have been snow.

No rain here today, just sunny intervals. Looks settled for the next week too. But it's getting colder by the day, upper 40's today, low 40's a week from now. The following week the upper 30's are the best I can expect. Not quite snow conditions, but there's some sleet in the forecast.

I agree, miserable stuff sleet
Decent snow is something of a rarity here, certainly at Christmas. The first couple of months in the news year are when we may see it (if at all). I'm still young enough at heart to enjoy the snow when it's 'deep and crisp and even' but that's increasing rare these days.
