It's getting messy here. Think I'll head out a scrap the driveway.

Fingers crossed for you Borg. Mike has the best solution, a generator. Amazon sells pipe warmers for plastic. The plastic pipe I use can support 180F hot water so 40F warmer isn't going to hurt.

Just looked up Pex standards. Max out at 200F hot water.

And with Pex it can be allowed to freeze and not break.

Thanks Ken, I did not know that.

Yeah, a generator is on our to do list, going to have to make an effort to look into that this year.

I'm not sure what we got but a few years back the whole street lost water due to a deep freeze. The workers that came by looked at our pipe & commented ours shouldn't break, that they used the good stuff.

Pvc and Cpvc are not flexible like Pex. Pex comes in rolls and the other stuff comes in straight joints you also have to glue it with fittings as with Pex you can only use a tool to expand it to fit it on a fitting no glue.

Freezing cold here for the first time since Feb of last year. Hoping everyone here is warm and safe.
    Good morning AD

Keep safe and warm. Here in the UK we've got past our cold snap and will have a relatively mild Christmas.

Morning Mike & Sammy. We have had heavy rain but not the high winds. Temps will top in the mid 50's.

We just got power back after an hour and a half with none.
We also got 1/2" plus snow in under an hour, with winds gusting to 40 mph...
    Good morning Ghot.

Good luck, stay safe and warm.

I was born in November in Pittsburgh. I have some serious innate cold resistance.
