Morning Borg. Now that we've shovel I'm okay with warmer weather. Would have been easier to shovel with less water.

Today I'm heading into the hills. Likely use my wife's car. Front wheel drive so good for deep snow in driveways.

Did you have any issues with power. Ours flickered, my UPS kept my equipment safe.
Well be careful when you go out. Yeah, wet snow is not fun to shovel.

No issues with power fortunately, they were calling for gusty winds but we never got those thankfully.

    Morning Computiac.

Better rain then ice or snow.

Yes, so was this ex-pat Canadian.....

"I got nostalgic as a Canadian living in London this morning, so I shovelled the walk and neighbours walks down to the corner. I felt strangely compelled to do this, it’s like a certain amount of snow activates some kind of friendly Mountie gene that Canadians possess. I’m normally no kinder than the average east Londoner."

He can come and clear mine if he likes.

Problem is in this country if you clear the snow and someone slips and gets injured you can end up being sued, or is that an Urban legend?

    Apparently so....

Here is what Lime Solicitors has to say....

...it is a myth that they can be sued for clearing snow from outside the home when someone subsequently slips and hurts themselves.

If all you’ve done is pour hot water on the ground, which, in this weather, will simply freeze into a sheet of ice, you may be liable.

But any attempt at using common sense to clear snow or ice should not leave you exposed to a claim – especially when you are a private individual trying to do a good deed for your community.
