I only prefer the older cars myself. They are built MUCH better years ago than they are today. Today if the hit anything they fold up like a beer can. They are all made with real thin metal and lots of plastic.
Always good to have a vehicle without a microchip in it, just in case!

Afternoon Andre. We don't have mailboxes in the UK, just letterboxes in the front door.
Well that solves a lot of problems right there. Plus it's nice not to have to take a hike down to the Mailbox to get your mail.
Aside from the occasional kids using your mailbox as batting practice, you also have to worry about people running into them & around the 4th of July someone sticking an M80 in your box to blow it up.

They've just about all got engine management units these days.

About 3 years ago had a small branch fall on the car, not big at all, & it left a visible dent.
Went to get the paintless dent repair & the guy at the shop told me that they take a certain element out of the car steel nowadays to make it lighter, the same element that makes the steel strong. That way they can claim better gas mileage.
I now understand why our car has 20 freakin air bags......

Also, when I took it in to get the faulty air compressor replaced (had to go to the Honda dealership for that one) I figured maybe an hour or 2. They ask me if I want to be dropped off at the mall while the car is being serviced.
When I said I can wait an hr or 2 they told me it would be like 5 hours. I'm like what, is it a hard to reach part? They tell me no, they have to hook it up to the computer to do an analysis & that itself will take 1 1/2 to 2 hours.
I'm like WTF, what OS are running on your analyzer.....Vista?

Of course it's about the cost. I kneeled on my hood and dented it. Fortunately it just popped back out.
