    I agree, Charlie.

Was in the 70's here today.

But truth be told, I know nothing of keeping bees.

My only experience, was a few years back, when I noticed a swarm clinging to a tree limb. Not really knowing what to do, I asked among friends for a beekeeper to contact me. He came, and gave me a 'hive' or whatever it's called. ...?

We easily moved the bees into it, and I placed it on about 50 acres of crimson clover.

Not really knowing what to do with them, I placed a little bowl of sugar water for them each day, and was stung each time. lol.

This went on for about a month. Then one day, I went to check on them and found several dead, and the rest were gone. I later asked the beekeeper about it, and he told me that some kind of 'moth' had likely gotten to them.

If that means anything to you. Honestly, I don't know. Anyway, that is my extent of keeping bees.

I love honey, but unfortunately, I greatly lack the experience to maintain and care for the bees properly.

It sounds like your swarm was queen less happens a lot never had a chance to reproduce. Wax moth is a clean up crew not a cause for killing a hive only get in the hive when they get weak.

    Thank you. my friend.

    I appreciate the information.

I had / have no clue, personally. I was only trying to do what I thought best for them, at the time.

Lesson learned... leave it to the pros.

The learning curve is quite steep now days a lot steeper than when I started keeping them and a lot more $$$$ than when I started. Made a living making honey about 10000 gal a year.

Wow, I didn't know. Bless folks like you, Charlie.

For not only providing honey for people who like it, but... #1 caring for the bees!

I tried to help once, only to get stung daily, and then, unfortunately to lose them all. My mistake, didn't have a clue what I was doing. Never thought about making money, only wanted to help the bees.

Getting stung often is part of the joy of beekeeping about 25 times this weekend and the bees were in a good mood. It is also the main reason that there are not a lot of beekeepers. It was not uncommon to get several hundred stings a week for me.

My 2001 Ford Crown Vic is just two years younger than yours, Mike.

It doesn't look that good though; trim keeps falling off.

    Good morning everyone

Cold start to the day, but the sun is still out and we should see low 60;s by the end of the afternoon. Won't last though, tomorrow it starts getting colder as the rain arrives.
