But that's to be expected considering you couldn't get some of the major/popular brands here for a while.
    There was also a little argument between the EU and Trump where he put punitive import duties on Scotch. That's been lifted now.

    Well pretty much everything has taken a price hike recently. Grocery store food has gone up, gas, just about everything.

    BTW, read an interesting article a bit back while researching the price on a 40 yr old bottle of Balvenie. They had a talk with several master distillers. Apparently anything over 25 yrs starts to absorb too many wood qualities & the flavor gets overwhelmed by that. As one put it, you'd get the same taste sucking on a piece of oak. So the prime years for a aged scotch is tween 12 - 25 years, but no longer.
