Could be the older units were not good when temps got down to 0°C. This one works down to -22° F heat pump

Good to know, the articles I've seen suggest they don't work well at temps below 40°F

This is really old data (old tech). I don't have it (yet), but many of our friends and acquaintances have them. Mostly no problems

Each tank is 275 gal. Both are located in my cellar. I figure there is around 25 to 50 gallons of just air space.
