Cheapest But Good Cable for Roku I Can Buy?

Hi guys.. I plan to install roku on my TV. For that I need to buy an ethernet cable. I plan on getting the cheapest I can get without sacrificing quality. Whats the lowest and cheapest ethernet cable type I can buy that gives 4K quality streaming? Can I get away with buying cat5 or lower?

Appreciate the link. But the article doesnt speak to quality 4K streaming among the different cable types although '4K' is in the title. Would you still help me though? I see cat5e and cat6 are listed so i assume theyre the cheapest. But are they 4K enabled?

I have 3 Ruku's in the house, all are using 2.4 ghz wireless from my router. 2HD, 1 4K TV LG OLED, small amount of 4k sources where I stream from. 20 year old house was wired from the start with CAT 6.

Ethernet cable for streaming 4K HD is different than HDMI cable for 4K video. There is no such thing as 4K enabled for Ethernet. What you need is gigabit ethernet. CAT 5e will carry gigabit Ethernet, but I would not recommend it for anything more than a 6' patch cord. I would go with CAT 6.

Depending on where you are going to run the cable, you might want to buy bulk cable with no connectors and then install your own plugs on the ends after the cable is run. It's pretty easy to install passthru connectors but the initial setup with plugs and a crimper will cost you about $50 US.

The biggest thing to stay away from is cheap cable with stranded conductors. You want CAT 6 with solid copper conductors. I use bulk cable from Home Depot and install my own plugs.

As an alternative, have you thought about 820AC or 820AX WiFi? I have no problems with 4K streaming over my 820AC WiFi which connects at just under gigabit speeds.
