It was quite pleasant out this afternoon.

Nice Fall/Autumn weather. Front yard and driveway are filling up with a bumper crop of walnuts. Squirrels are loving it, but my lawn guy is slinging them everywhere. He has one of those big Gravely sit/walk behind tractors and when it bats a walnut it comes out like a shotgun blast.

Nah. They sit up in the trees and watch. We have 3 pretty good size old mature Black Walnut trees. Wish we had 1 English Walnut, they are easier to crack and the meat is sweeter. If any are just on the verge of falling, the vibration from that Gravely does the job. Sometimes the squirrels bury them in the flower pots on the front porch. Can't seem to teach them to clean up after themselves......... dirt all over around the pots. The wife is not pleased.

Afternoon TC

Here the squirrels leave my pots alone. The real vandals are the Blackbirds in the spring, stealing the topsoil from my pots to line their nests (far easier than digging it out of the ground like they're supposed to).
