Well, looking for any scientific verified study on mask effectiveness leads you to a mishmash of articles. So it hard to find an actul answer.

Yes, a N95 would be the best choice. However finding one that is an actual N95 is going to be damn near impossible nowadays.

A couple months ago they busted a fake mask ring in TX. These masks claimed to be N95, even had the the holographic 3M seal on them. They made them look like the real deal. They weren't.

Studies at European universities have shown the a regular mask does offer protection, although it's lower then thought. It offers modest protection.

Still, as far as I'm concerned anything is better then nothing so I'll continue to wear one. It's a good idea for me with all my underlying conditions.

    I agree, Borg.

The information is so convoluted, it is ridiculous.

As for the Tx. firm, producing and selling fake N95's. I hope they are prosecuted to the max.

Like you, I too, still wear a mask whenever I am out and about. grocery store, pharmacy, hardware store, whatever.

But I see many people, that do not.

To me, any protection, is better than no protection.

He he. It's not only Windows Update that screws up systems. A recent update to a Linux Mint Cinnamon component breaks Virtual Box 3D acceleration and you end up with a white screen.

Morning Mike. Masks are no longer a legal requirement here but people are still wearing them in shops.

It's not just here. Saw an article about 6+ months ago that a country, Denmark maybe, had to recall over 600K masks that staff at hospitals were using. Same deal, they claimed they were "official N95" however when tested, turned out they were just regular masked. And not surprisingly, they were from China.

I always get a runny nose when wearing it.

But strange world we live in nowadays. A sneeze or a cough from someone can clear a room faster then any fart could in the past.

    Hi,
Next issues will be people with new mickey mouse ears and sinus infection issues from breathing too much of their exhaust breath for so long.

This is a real issue, especially for children in K -12, required to wear them.

    Man...what a new world.
