Last night, this morning I completed upgrades to MIL's machine. It is quite pleasant to work on.

I will never buy another computer with an HDD boot drive, never.

and Windows should really have an 8GB minimum for memory.


The gas to get and return laptop will likely be the most expensive individual part of this upgrade.

Not good news in our area, the Delta variant is now in our county. And tween us we have 3 appts next week. My Wife has to go to the hosp to see the doc, no choice, it has to be a F2F.

The delta variant is everywhere. So far we are having really good success with vaccines. Areas hard hit are stepping up. The region I live in went from 700+ cases a day in May to 10-15.

Today we have a major step in our reopening so will be interesting to see numbers in three weeks. Will they be right back to the old levels.

I hate to say it, but the numbers are already going up fast. Some states/countries have reinstated indoor mask wearing.

Not looking good. I think maybe they should have held off on reopening everything with the emergence of this variant.

Yes agree on lockdowns but people need to make a living.


Horrible job being a politician. You know you should keep things closed, you know you can't afford any more debt, you know if you open people will get sick.


What I've read, and I'm sure there are exceptions, if you get sick with vaccine you likely won't be hospitalized and you won't die. Not sure why the so many are so against vaccines.


As this thing keeps mutating god only knows what will it turn into.

Yeah, tough situation. A lot of places have already closed due to this & it's a damned if you do/damned if you don't situation.

Same thing for us with the vax, our docs said due to our conditions we could have some issues if we get it, but at the same time they suggest we get it. So....we flip a coin?

The Novavax looks like it would be better for a lot of folks like us, with underlying severe medical conditions. It's latest due date is at this point somewhere around Sept.

But yeah, scary thought of what it could turn into.

Oh yes.

Up here any one with pre-existing conditions was given one or the new vaccines early on in the program. Very good results.


You are careful and are still treating this as a pandemic. It is the people who are treating this as if it were over that are getting sick.
