    Probably not a bad idea.
Yep, I tend to be cautious. I have any kind of update for everything turn to manual. Seen/had it happen too many times where something updated & it all went to hell.

Understandable, we were posting at the same time - you got into mine as a quick 'edit'

Yes, as my near neighbour Keith says, it nice comfortable weather here this afternoon.

Not looking forward to my evening though, it's Patch Tuesday.

At 6PM UK time my monthly marathon begins - half a dozen machines to update/clean up/Macrium image. Don't expect to hear from me much of this evening "...I may be gone some time".
It wouldn't be so bad but I've one that always takes an hour to do the CU.

You all take care & have a good, safe day.

Yikes! I hadn't thought of that.
    I'm sure it'll be alright.

I have a habit of waiting a day or 3 to apply any patches to see what mayhem MS is going to try to unleash on the world.
With my trusty MR images to hand I'm prepared to throw caution to the wind and just go for it.....

I have a couple like that, and with only USB2 ports on them their MR imaging takes about 4 hours. I've become quite adept at running multiple updates/backups in parallel and have worked out the most time-effective order to start them off

Doesn't take me long to backup. It only has the OS and a few installed progs. I do a full MR image before which takes 20min and a differential after which takes 10.

Guess I've been lucky then, I can't remember a MS update ever bricking either of my rigs.

I have had my tablet bricked twice and have to let the battery run down before I can fix it the battery is not removable I will not ever buy a machine (except for a cell phone) that the battery is fixed and have to bring it to a repair shop to replace.
