My brother-in-law had old computers using punched cards at school and they produced a lot of noise when working. In the 80's I was gathering some tapes with ZX Spectrum games intended to be played when at last I could persuade my father to buy my a ZX Spectrum. My father was reluctant while I was at primary school because he knew I would neglect my lessons. Finally in 1991, when I was at secondary school I bought the 8088 PC (Hyundai Super 16V model). Thankfully by then I also had gathered some 5.25" and 3.5" floppy disks with PC games. I could much later play my ZX Spectrum games through a ZX Spectrum emulator. I could connect a common cassette player to the line in of my sound card via a 3.5mm jack cable and record the tapes in a special file to be used by the emulator. The games graphics where rather crude, but I could finally play some of them. Good times...
