Whose designer brain was addled on providing braille on a gear stick?

    1) even normal sighted persons rarely look at gear stick except when familiarising which way they go. So putting in braille does not help most normal users (what percentage know braille).

    2) If (sadly) a person's vision is so poor that they need braille, then they are hardly going to be driving a car.

The only place I could see a ptactical use for this is on a simulator to give visually challenged people the fun and experience of racing?

Maybe for future self driving cars.
The shifter doesn't do anything, but a blind person might find it fun to pretend
