Ah! My girl is back!
Yep. Thought it was about time.

Hello, Wynona.
Wishing you a nice, safe weekend.

Hello, folks.
It's 70° with sun this morning. Going to make it to 82° this afternoon.
Waiting for Cyndi to pick me up and head to Kroger. Going to get banana pudding makings for a cookout Sunday.
I don't know what she's going to get. I know she's already stocked up. Guess Russ forgot something.
Morning Wynona, Gracie, and Lucy.

Good morning Wynnona Gracie and Lucy
in the mid-60s here today but promising to get steadily warmer, mid 70s expected by mid-week

Yes Bree.
I think Dell did this customer a disservice selling them a box with such a powerful processor and insufficient memory and poor storage.
It likely met some price point on their scale and they said go with it.
Their service manual shows how to replace M.2 and doesn't even mention option to replace HDD. Engineers knew, sales guy could care less as long as they made sale.
Evening JB
Snow has stopped here. In the higher elevations they got accumulations on lawns.

Pity, I was thinking it was maybe for your own use.
My (growing) menagerie of laptops now boasts 3 out of 7 with SSDs, two of them Dells...

SSDs rule, it's the only way to go....
I have an application that writes to a file 80 or so charters once every minute and that would wear out an SSD. So I have it writing to a HHD so as not to wear out the SSD before its time.

I have given up worrying about wearing out my SSDs.
I put a 500GB Samsung 860 EVO in a Dell laptop about two years ago. It gets pretty heavy use building and running VMs. So far I've written 14TB to it. At that rate of use it's not going to reach the manufacturer's specs for endurance (300TBW) for another 36 years (so should outlive me).
