I painted my house one time then I put up ceder siding 25 years ago never did any thing to it no paint or stain still looks good just turned a dark brown. Read where cedar will last longer if you do not paint or stain it if you do that the wood will hold water and it will rot quicker.

I didn't do the install Bob, my step son did, took 7 hours to remove old door and moldings, and install new molding and the new storm door.

I have vinyl siding ...NEVER needs painting ....lasts forever.
