Well, turns out I was wrong. This one traces its origins back to the beginning with Windows 1.01 in 1985....

...though I didn't start using it to keep my address book until Windows 3.1. Every time I replaced my PC I copied my address book and cardfile.exe across to the new one. That lasted me until WinXP. But when I got a Win7 machine I though I'd lost it for good, 16-bit apps don't run in x64 Win7
Fortunately there was a 32-bit version made for Windows NT, and that's the one I now run in x64 Win10. A mere youngster, only released in 1993
